Kathie...I ended up finding a yellow, sapphire and diamond pendant that is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't be happier. Smiles. I plan to take it to an appraiser out of curiosity. Happy Travels!

Sorry...just back from a quick two day business trip to the Big Island.
Ratt gave us the price as we were driving past the construction site. I'm not totally sure of the price as I was not interested in buying at the time but it was somewhere in the low to mid 400K.
Aloha!

Oh, yes, I definitely mentioned your name. Smiles. I mentioned it when I called to have the car sent and again when I talked to Lily who, by the way, sends many greetings. The price of my pendant was less than half of the regular marked price. I now have to buy a gold chain. Can't wait to get the matching earrings...to die for. Lily made a xerox copy of them with the style number so that I can contact her before I return and she can try to have them ready for me. Let's just pray they don't get sold...like my monks.Smiles. Happy Travels!

Bob...Those earrings are going to be an alm to me.
Kathie...Yes, the jeweler would probably make me a pair. They have great service. Can't wait to do more business with them. I'll also check out Bob's place, too. Happy Travels!

Oh, Bob...as for what talk I heard about the new airport...well basically that folks will have to see it to believe it if it opens on schedule and that of course the part about some of the runways sinking...which is pretty common talk...and how far it is from everything. Plus, talk of the new hotel that will be or is going up at the airport. Happy Travels!

Bob...I was just rereading my thread here and saw your comment,"Never lose face." It made me started laughing hysterically because I was so mad at the jerk/customer who pulled the plug on my computer, at the internet cafe, that...the guy who did it almost lost "his" face. I was furious. He saw the look on my face after I ranted at him and immediately took off speed walking. Happy Travels!

Hi Guenmai, have read your story about custom-made crocodile bags in Bangkok by the CORNER shop. I'm planning a trip to Bangkok in Jan 2011 and interested in having one made. Just want to know how was your bag? Was it as what you expected (same as in the magazine)? Was it worth the money at the end?
I am also looking at custom made shoe (leather). Any places you would suggest?
Thanks.

CJ2010: I just happened to be reading my old trip report and saw this. Anyhow, I ended up not having my handbag made because when they checked to see if they had the exotic skin that I wanted, they didn't have the color in stock. It's good I didn't have it made as I then took the drawing that the handbag place had drawn up and took it over to my part of town and went to a place on Sukhumvit Rd., around Nana BTS stop. I asked about having the same bag made, and in the same exotic skin, and they were going to do it for a little less than half price of the first place. But, they needed two weeks and I was at the end of my three-week, I think it was, Bangkok stay.
I took my Thai friend into the boutique on Sukhumvit to translate. I can't remember the name of it, but someone else on this forum mentioned the place, too. It's on the south side of the street. Now, I don't know if there would be a big difference in the craftsmanship of the first place and the Sukhumvit place. Happy Travels!
