Group (non-private) Tours of South Korea

Hi all!

I'm planning to travel to South Korea by myself in mid-late October this year and am looking for suggestions for fun group tours of the country. There are lots of resources and day tours for Seoul, but I'd like to get out of the city for around 5 days and would like to meet other travelers and locals. I am finding lots of private tours but does anyone have suggestions for operators that offer group tours? I've looked at gadventures and Intrepid Travel but am wondering if there's anything more local. Any suggestions would be wonderful, thanks!

I found it easy to travel solo in South Korea, although my priorities didn't include meeting others. If you haven't already seen it, you might find some useful information in my trip report -- just click on my screen name to find it.

I, too, traveled solo. If I wanted a tour I'd probably go with Intrepid.

Hi kja! I've been MIA on here for a bit but I wanted to come back and thank you so much for your amazing trip report. You really do write beautifully (at the risk of sounding pretentious it feels vaguely like Lucy Maud Montgomery's non-Anne of Green Gables writing) and it's helped me tremendously with planning my trip. If nothing else I feel much more confident in navigating Seoul solo, so thank you for that. :)

Thanks for your compliments, YoungPeg! I must admit that I'm not sure what your reference to "Lucy Maud Montgomery's non-Anne of Green Gables writing" means (it seems I haven't read enough of LM Montgomery's works -- but I am very glad that you found my report helpful and readable. :-)

Let us know how your trip goes!
