I'm planning my trip late.

Thinking of going right before Christmas. Is this part ever shut down due to weather? Snow? Etc.?

How about more logistics? Is a driver necessary for the trip?

Does this take pretty much the whole day?

I don't have very much and will have to plan very carefully.
