Grand Palace...are there things that we can't see on Sunday>?

I've heard on this site that there are some things at the Grand Palace (and other sites) that are closed on Sundays.

We are looking at how we want to spend our days in Bangkok and had Sunday planning for a Grand Palace visit but am now rethinking this.
Anyone have any more info ?
thanks in advance.

I've heard that some of the halls are closed?? Maybe it's not a must see anyway?

There are some of the interior spaces that are closed on weekends. Are they must-sees? No so much as just visiting the Grand Palace/Emerald Buddha complex is. So if Saturday or Sunday is the only day you can visit, don't worry about it.

kathie is right...while the inside areas are somewhat interesting, they are nothing in comparison to the outside....i think there may only be 1-3 inside things to see...

The places closed on weekends are two throne halls and the armory. The armory is certainly miss-able, but I feel the throne halls are interesting. The oldest of them, the Phra Maha Montien, is particularly ornate. A lot of people do miss it, even when it's open, because by the time they finish the temple they're running out of steam.

We're only going to be in BKK for 2 full days. The other full day we'll be with Tong to the fishing village and the first day is a 1/2 day arrival day.

I knew that there were many things that we werent' going to have time for and this may be one of them.

good reason to come back!!
