Grand Hotel in Taipei worth seeing?

I've read lot of interesting things about the old Grand Hotel and the photos look amazing. We've booked a day tour of Taipei, off a cruise ship, and I included that in one of the sites we wanted to visit. Did I do wrong??

The hotel is definately worth seeing and hard to get to so a tour is a good way. Taipei is a wonderful city with many sights so enjoy it. I hope they take you to the Chiang Kai-shek memorial - it is much like the Lincoln Memorial.

Oh boy... I had stayed there several times when I was a kid. The smaller one in Kaoshiung as well. Those good old days.

I also spent some time there courtesy of the Taiwan Ministry of Education while teaching summer seminars for college English language instructors and professors. It's definitely a Taipei landmark!

Yes I've stayed there too. It is worthwhile having a look and don't forget to go to the fabulous museum in Taipei.
