Good unlimited data for tourists

Hi, I will be on vacation 2 weeks in Laos and 1 one week in Thai(Bangkok) in the beginning of January. My GSM phone is unlocked. Are there unlimited data, talk and text plan available for that short period of time? Or do I just have to buy the refillable sim card. I care more about the data part, I still can communicate with people thru social media apps. I was looking into portable WiFi hotspot device(up to 5 devices) but that could run up to $200 for two countries, I still have to get a sim card for Laos and Thai though just in case I need to make a local call. The place I'm staying at have Wifi, I intend to do lots of sight seeing out and about using my phone data. Maybe do live streaming and using GPS. Any suggestion or help would be great. Thank you

Both countries offer 4G data services. Laos in particular is surprisingly good.
You need a pre-pay A/C.
It shouldn't be too difficult to set up a SIM - in Vientiane, i go to the Lao Telecom Main office where they have a very good service for foreigners - they even have an EL helpline.
most telephone shops will help you out and set you up with an appropriate package. I
once in Thailand you will need another SIM .

Both countries offer packages based on downloaded GBs - normally one week/2 week or one month - as it is GB you are buying the duration is of course of secondary importance. Usually after your 4G is used up it slips into "unlimited" 2G.

Lao Telecom are a total waste of time. You would be far better off going to ETL.

They do have tourist SIM cards. I have seen them for as long as 15 days. Perfect for you.
If anything, I'm sure you can go to any local cell phone service and they could help you.
