good tour for short trip to xian from Hong Kong
 

We will be in Hong Kong for a few days and would like to take a side trip to Xian to see the terra cotta warriors. We would like to book a short tour 1 night and 2 days from Hong Kong to Xian. Are there any tour companies that the forum would recommend?

Do you want to do a group tour? This is very easy to arrange on your own, no tour needed.

I recommend two nights in Xi'an.

We do not need a group tour. We would like someone to meet us in Xian and take us on a tour of the terra cotta warriors, take us to our hotel (any suggestions) and then the next day perhaps see the the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and return to Hong Kong where we leave late that evening for home.

You will need to get a visa for this short two day trip.

First, thing. There's only one non-stop flight HKG-XIY each day. Departs HKG mid-afternoon and takes 2:30 to get to XIY. Coming back, flight departs XIY at around 11a. Other options involve connections or flying from/to SZX (Shenzhen) instead of HKG which adds at least 1:30 to travel time compared to flying non-stop HKG-XIY.

Basically, an overnight sightseeing trip from Hong Kong to Xian does not work.
