Good news for Boston-based travelers
Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced that they will begin non-stop flights between Boston and Tokyo (NRT) beginning in April, 2012. This is huge, as it saves the hours (and aggravation) of changing planes.
The flight from Boston arrives early enough (4pm) that you can make connections to most major cities in east/southeast Asia.
Schedule:
BOS 13:20 - NRT 16:00+1
NRT 11:30 - BOS 11:20

HT: Actually, just got tickets today for travel next March/April. Stopover in HKG then fly to Kyoto (all on Cathay), then return to BOS from NRT (JAL to JFK). Too early for new flight.
Bob ... as if I had eny idean what the seating is like on your side of the curtain.

Don, that is good news for you, as I know how much you like the Japanese airlines. I'll stick with my UA flights in biz from ORD to NRT and on to BKK... at least for now.
Had an interesting time on the 'back side' of the curtain flying from ORD to Lax just this morning. My upgrade got downgraded (smaller plane was used) but if you are ever on a UA A319, grab the exit row window seat in row 12, or either one of the seats in exit row 11. OOOOOOOODDDLLLLESSSS of leg room. That's my #1 priority!
