Going to Singapore for the first time
I'm accompanying my sister to Singapore in August. As we are both first timers to the region, we wanted travel tips and trip ideas on where to eat, places to go (tours etc.) and what to do in Singapore over a 2 week period. My sister is relocating there for 2 years so accomodation is being provided and is not an issue. However tips and advice on relocating to Singapore and how best to get to know the place would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

You'll find Singapore a very easy city to orient to. The infrastructre is better than any city I've seen in anywhere. The MRT is fast, efficient. Changi is often voted the best airport in the world.
There is no need for any tours. Everyone speak English and signage is in English.
Two weeks is a long time for Singapore. You may want a short trip or two elsewhere, perhaps to Meleka, for instance.
At the top of the page is a drop down menu. CHoose Singapor from teh menu and you'll find many dozens of posts about things to do, places to eat, etc.

Hi,
I was just in Singapore last week. I can't say much because I was there only for a short time, but it was beautiful the day I was there. I highly recommend the Orchids at the Botanical gardens as something to do.

Make sure you eat at Eng Seng. It has the most delicious Black Pepper Crab. Get there between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m.. Make sure you bring lots of paper towels or napkins. The sauce is so good you will find yourself in heaven. I'm a Maryland crab aficianado and Eng Seng had the best crabs I've ever eaten. We had BPC somewhere else and it was not as good.

Pick up the fantastic walking tour guides at the airport. There is also a group of locals who do walking tours. I will try and find the web address later.
I love the Night safari and as Gpanda says Eng seng best crab anywhere.
Singapore is a great place to walk and take your time. If you like shopping your in for a treat (not cheap by Bangkok standards but cheap by western.) Super easy to navigate city.
I agree that 2 weeks is quite a long time you may want to think about going somewhere else for a few days. Tell us the sort of things you like doing and we will happily advise
