Going on Northwest to China?
 

If you are booked on non-stop flight 87 from Detroit to Beijing, better check with NW. It will be discontinued, but I don't know when it will happen. We had reservations for May 8, and I changed them today.

Hi Dave,<BR><BR>Where did you get the information from? I signed up with a tour operator to travel in June. Obviously I am now very anxious to find out if NW will indeed discontinue the service.<BR><BR>Sandy

This was first posted on the AOL travel boards, then I checked with NWA. I suggest you call NWA or go to nwa.com. There is no flight 87 non-stop from DTW to PEK on May 14.

I just booked four of us from Detroit to Beijing May 29th. It was posted on nwa.com. I think they must have cut back on their flights because we have a very hard time finding dates that would work.

Amy - which flights are you booked on? Do you change planes in NRT?

We are booked on North West # 87 on Wednesday October 30 to Beijing. I believe that they only fly that flight three days a week. I think on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Not sure if they have plans tocancel. United has a daily direct flight to Beijing from Chicago.

Just don't take it out on me.<BR><BR>If you think you are on flight 87 non-stop from DTW to PEK on Oct. 30, better check it out.<BR><BR>I just checked on the NWA site. There is no flight 87 non-stop from DTW to PEk.<BR><BR>I also just called NWA directly. Still no flight 87. <BR><BR>Don't take my word for it. Check it out and post your findings back here so others can benefit.

Dave:<BR><BR>It looks like you are right. Options for October 30 now look like DTW/Tokyo/Beijing. Oh Well! Northwest has not yet informed me of the cancellation.

Dave was right. Northwest has cancelled Flight # 87. On 10/30, we were rerouted from DTW/Tokyo/Beijing.

I'm bringing this up again in case it can help someone.
