GO TODAY TOURS?????

Has anyone used "Go Today" for tours to Vietnam and/or Thailand? I would be interseted in knowing what tours are better than others. I am a single 55 y o woman traveling alone. Althought I have been to Europe 6 times and Australia (alone, and on tours) I get a bit skittish being alone in these two countries. I am looking for moderate price range. Thanks

I have never used gotoday for tours or for asia, but I have used them for packages to London and to Paris. The packages included r/t air, hotels, breakfast and transfers. They always delivered what they advertised though the hotels in London leave much to be desired but that's because London is so expensive to begin with.

You have nothing to fear being alone in Thailand or Vietnam, both are very safe, safer than most places in Europe. If you wanted to go on your own, you would probably get better hotels for the money. If you think you're better off on a tour, then I suggest you upgrade the hotels if you can.

Thanks for your suggestions. I know what you mean about the hotels. I have been seeing hotels in Bangkok for like $23 US,---inbelievable. You really do pay more when on a tour, but sometimes the hassles are not there. They just drop you at the door. Man, when I was younger I would never have taken a tour. Take care

you probably would not be too happy in a $23 a day hotel....better in the $40-100 per day range....

A tour company we were very happy with is www.imaginative-traveller.com. We are usually independent travelers but when we went to Japan we thought we would like a group. Small, authentic, great traveling companions, inexpensive, no shopping requirements. We have become good friends with our guide an Australian woman. Check out my other posts on this topic by clicking my screen name above, or by searching using my screen name laurie_ann under the country of Japan. They also do tours of Thailand and Vietnam on the same principles. Also, others here have raved about Overseas Adventure Travel (or maybe Tours, it is often referred to as "OAT"). They seem to have a similar travel philosophy, a good combination of "independent" and "companion" travel. Enjoy planning your trip!

I've been traveling solo for 15 years and decided to try something different. I agree with the previous poster about imaginative traveller. I went with them to India a few months ago. Absolutely fantastic. So much fun, I can't wait to use them again for my next trip.
