Furusato Kanko Hotel - Sakurajima, Kagoshima Closed
 

I was looking at possible bookings and just found out through two sources
(tripadvisor/ onsensoaker) that the Furusato Kanko on Sakurajima near Kagoshima filed for bankruptcy and closed at the end of Sept.
So sad as this was an all time favorite spot.
Any recommendations on other hot springs hotels in the Kagoshima area?

That is too bad. We enjoyed our stay there a few years back. Sign of the times I guess.

Sad to hear this too! Spent a marvellous stay there and will forever remember the kindness of the staff and the ocean front onsen.
