From HK:3d/2n. taipei or bangkok?

Need a short holiday about mid-october. Would like the cooler weather of taipei but have never been to either place. Not into luxury or beach sitting prefer hiking, swimming, wandering interesting small places, street food, etc. Have got gf so don't need nite entertainment, as on offer in BK, maybe TP too!! Would appreciate your comments. thanks

Thailand will not be cool so would stick to TP unless your gf need nite entertainment.

Bangkok is my favorite city in the world. But the weather won't be cool. Mid-October will be rainy in Bangkok, but for doing city things, it doesn't matter. But it sounds like you don't want city - hiking you won't be doing in either Bangkok or Taipei. Get a nice hotel with a pool in Bangkok and you can swim. Plenty of street food.

It's been a number of years since I was last in Taipei. The National Museum is worth the trip in and of itself. But Taipei (at least then) wasn't a city for wandering and finding intersting places.

Kathie I think jobin might have a problem with his "gf" since he called her a "nite entertainment" comparable to visiting nite entertainment spots in Bangkok and Taipei. Perhaps the trip is cancelled?
