From Chiang Rai to Phuket
Hello,
My fiance and I are in the final stages of planning our November honeymoon and will somehow need to go from Chiang Rai to Phuket. In addition to our wonderful Fodor's book, we also have a Lonely Planet book that shows a flight path between Chiang Rai and Phuket. The problem is that we can't seem to find this sort of flight using internet sites like Travelocity, Orbitz, etc. Does anyone know which airlines provide this service and how to get those tickets? If there isn't such a flight, what's our next best way to get from Chiang Rai to Phuket?
Thank you!

Rather than getting to Chaing Mai from Chaing Rai and flying the non-stop to Phuket, I'd recommend that you fly Chaing Rai to Bangkok and change planes there to fly to Phuket. You'll have many more flight choices and more time flexibility. Also, there are no Thai Air flights between CR and CM.

You can also look at flying a discount airlines like One-Two-Go or Air Asia from Chiang Ray to Bangkok and then on to Phuket. 1-2 Go is the better one but it has only 1 flight at 18.10 and a tight connection at 20.15 to Phuket. Air Asia has more flights with more time between flights connections.

But - remember that the discount airlines have disadvantages, like very low luggage limits (15 kg), no seat assignments, etc. They also are no refund. If you change your mind or miss your flight - tough. I'd rather pay a bit more and fly Thai. Indeed, I pay a bit more and fly Business Class on Thai.
