Four Seasons lovers: Singapore and Jimbaran Bay?

Wonder what folks think of these properties. I'm spending eight nights in Bali and have a one night layover in Singapore on the way back, and I wanted to do a real luxury hotel for one night. In particular, Singapore - how does this stack up against the Ritz Carlton? Thanks!

We are staying at the Jimbaran in August....half time at Sayan and half at Jimbaran....have never stayed there before but past posts have been very good. Also check out flyertalk.com for more discussion on these properties.
We picked the Ritz Carlton in Singapore (we have a layover there as well) there is another recent discussion thread about both FS and RC in Singapore.

Stayed at the FS Jimbaran and Grand Hyatt last month in Bali. Personally I feel FS villas on the small side and too close apart. (Compared to my stay at RC in 2002) Funny thing is the regular ocean view rooms actually have better views of the ocean because they are higher up and the view from the ocean front villas are not as good because they are mostly blocked by plantation and foliage

I travel to Singapore for business several times a year and always stay at the Four Seasons. The service is execellent, the decor tasteful, the location convenient, the food good to very good. Having said that I wouldn't characterize it as a luxury hotel in the same category as the FS resorts on Bali. It's located on a very small and oddly spaced plot of land (very expensive real estate, that) and consequently is kind of jammed together. For example, the main restaurant has no windows and both pool areas are smallish. This is not really a criticism as the hotel has many positives, but just a comment that if you're looking for "real luxury" in Singapore, the FS may not be the right choice. I'd say the the Ritz Carlton is more special for design and views, although the location is no where as good as the FS's.

I love the FS at Jimbaran. It's not really Bali, but it's a wonderful experience.

The FS in Sayan has many many admirerers but I'm not one. I find the architecture of the public buildings to be overwhelmingly awful and the pool non-functional. I was there for lunch last month and was surprised that the walkway bridge that you have to cross to access the hotel was under repair. Looked like a major inconvenience the guests.

Hi - I need help! I am trying to book my honeymoon and have narrowed it down to Bali and Bali. Can someone confirm this is the right trip? So far our itinerary begins from flying out of the US to Singapore for 3 days then off to the Four seasons in Jimbaran Bay for 7 nights then to the Four seasons at Sayan. Are these hotels as amazing as I have been hearing? The trip is for November which I hear may be the rainy season which doesn't concern me as much unless it will rain everyday. And regarding these pristine or not pristine beaches - will there be any please to scuba dive?

Stayed at RC in Jimbaran a couple of years ago and had dinner at the FS. We loved the RC. One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. The FS looked very nice, but to us, not quite as nice as the RC and more expensive. Others staying at the RC told us they prefered to stay in the hotel vs. the villas, as the villas are more isolated and less chance to talk to people.

You will enjoy both the FS hotels and Bali. Don't worry about the rain. I've been to Bali every month of the year; it rains in all of them.

Bali has scuba but it's not the best in Indonesia. In the south close to Jimbaran you can either get deep current diving or muck diving, i.e., very little coral. Good for serious divers (or photographers) who are either looking for large pelagics or teeny critters. In the far north there are some lovely reefs, but the area's a good three hour drive from either FS. I understand there are wreck sites off the east coast as well.

I suggest you do some research on line for scuba operators and call and ask questions.
