Four Days in Phnom Penh and Siem Riep

Hello, I had request for help on a similar post earlier, but now, my program is more clear.

Need help on the following.

I need to attend a conference in Phnom Penh in March 1st week and at the end of the conference, me and my wife would like to see Phnom Penh and Siem Riep including Angkor Wat. We have 4 days with us. Can somebody please suggest an itinerary so that we can make best use of our 4 days., also if we could include any other places in these 4 days.

I also heard that there is a ferry from Phnom Penh to Siem Riep which is a good experience.

We would prefer to stay in Budget accomodation.

Request your help please.

thanks,
Nitish

You will have had time in PP already, and will hopefully have gotten chance to see a bit of the city. If it were me - and it isn't - I'd spend all four days in Siem Reap. It takes three full days just to see the major temples. Three full days means 4 nights.

To prepare for your visit to the temples, get a copy of Dawn Rooney's book, Angkor: A Guide to Cambodia's Wondrous Temples. You'll need transport around the temple areas, a car or Tuk-tuk. You may or may not want a guide as well.

There is plenty of budget accommodation in Siem Reap. Take a look at the Seven Candles Guesthouse.
