Floods in Hua Hin and gulf coast area

Just picked up the BBK Post. Apparently the area has been badly affected by high wins and 4m high waves which have caused flooding and damage to some homes (500) and shops etc. Govt has declared a disater area in 6 regions. Boats instructed to remain in port.
Anyone travelling to the area may want to check on the current situation.

Kathie - I immediately thought of carol as I have been following her post. Hopefully she will check in before travelling south.

Bangkok Post says it will end tomorrow. We go on Saturday. I think we will be fine.

It has calmed down a lot but the waves are still rough. Not much beachhead but as Carol has mentioned it should be better as the week progress.

Kathie I'm not there yet and only my parents and some relatives are there now.

OK, glad to hear you are both ok.

Hanuman, after what you have gone through with you home in Bangkok, I was hoping you wouldn't also get flooded in Hua Hin.

The town is not flooded Kathie only the very rough seas and high waves causing flooding along the beachheads. I think it's the result of some offshore storm and by the new year it should be fine - fingers crossed!
