Flights to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam
Hello,
I'll be heading to all three and am wondering which airline would be best (leaving from Washington DC)? A lot of the ones I've found have 3+ stops and that's so exhausting!!! Please help. Thanks! |
what exactly is your itinerary. You should look for flights into Bangkok as it is a hub. You can fly local airlines to the other countries once you get there (Air Asia BKK-Hanoi, Bangkok Airways for others).
Check kayak.com and mobissimo.com to compare rates. |
Thanks for the reply! Am simply looking to fly from DC to Thailand, then from Hanoi back to DC.

thai air has a direct flight from jfk, non-stop...
air france via paris brit air via london luftansa via frankfurt eva air from newark via taipai emerites via ny and dubai |
Qatar Airways has a good non stop from IAD to Doha ( Qatar ) with onwards connections to Bangkok, good airline, good service, PTV's in Coach etc, if you are lucky to fly Business Class you get to use their special premium 'Terminal' at Doha for the transit.
They also have flights to Ho Chi Minh City so you could perhaps route into Bangkok but then return from HCMC ( aka Saigon ). You also have the Thai Airways non stop JFK to Bangkok which is a fast flight and you can book through with Thai to Hanoi. Also Emirates non stop from NYC ( ? JFK/EWR ) through Dubai. If you want to fly straight from IAD then that Qatar daily non stop to Doha could be good, avoinds NYC change. |
Etihad from NYC non stop to Abu Dhabi and then onwards with them to Bangkok is another option.
From Bangkok to Hanoi you have Thai, Air France, Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Air Asia. |
it may be cheaper to buy a roundtrip to Bangkok and buy a separate one-way flight from Hanoi to Bangkok via Air Asia (under $100 booked ahead).
like i said, check kayak.com and sidestep.com, mobissimo.com, etc. |
