flights from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang
 

Hi,

Trying to find out more about Laos Airlines. Scheduling a flight from Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang in Feb. 2013. Are they reliable and safe??

I've flown Vientiane to Luang Prabang and back a couple of times with them. No issues.

I've also flown on Lao Airlines twice, Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai (arrived in LP by boat). Luang Prabang's a tricky place to get in and out of, in a sort of bowl with mountains around, so I think I'd trust them before another airline with possibly less experience at that airport.

Lao used to have a bad reputation but they've cleaned up considerably in the last five years are so. I wouldn't worry about them. Just be sure you book with the 'real' Lao Airlines if you book on-line. There was a fake web site around, run by an agency, that would take bookings but not always actually book the flights.
