flights from bkk to chiang mai and siem reap

arriving bkk in Feb 09 and would like to fly to Chiang Mai for 3 days and then from there to Siem Reap for 4 days and then return to bkk. Any suggestions regarding reasonable fares as Bangkok Air to Siem Reap is outrageous:air pass seems best but there are connection problems from bkk to cnx on bangkok air as we arrive at 00:05 from usa and would like to get some sleep.

The only airline that flies between Bangkok and Siem Reap is Bangkok Air. As you note, the Disocvery pass is your best option.

I'm not sure what you mean about connection problems to CNX... there are a number of flights every day. you could certainly sleep in Bangkok the first night and take a morning flight...

Yes there are flights but the connection times appear difficult re; return from CNX and the on to REP. Also BKK to CNX leaves very early in the AM. Best times appears to use THAI
Air to Chiang Mai and the Bangkok Air to Siem Reap but that is costly.

If you are actually flying four legs, BKK-SR, SR-BKK, BKK-CNX, CNX-BKK, you could use the Discovery pass for the first two and one of the next two and buy the fourth on Thai Air or anotehr carrier. This way you get the discount and a decent connection.

Great idea Grandpa. WE could use the pass to go BKK/CNX and BKK/REP REP/BKK and buy one way ticket CNX/BKK as the Bangkok Air connection does not work: Thanks
