flight to Lao
 

I am looking to fly to Lao in Aug-Sept. All I have found is flights that cost $350 and up to fly directly from Chiang Mai and also from Bangkok. Is that a normal rate or can I get it cheaper when I am in Thailand?

I did a Bangkok Discovery air pass, minimum three flights, BKK to LP was $120 USD. You cant do one from Chiang Mai that I know of. You must buy these flights before you leave home.

I also found that it was cheaper when I got there and went to travel agents to ask about flights,

I used Eddie at SEA tours who is based in Bangkok. We communicated via email and he sorted my Laos flight before I arrived and saved me about £100pp.

I've used Eddie for years. Sometimes he can get me better fares than I find elsewhere, sometimes not. But it's worth checking with him. He's at the American Express agency in Bangkok.
