Flight NYC to Bangkok

Dear Fodorities ..

I´m going to buy a ticket from NYC to BKK to flight next march 2014, Is there some good site to get cheaper price?

I am using expedia.com and it´s around U$ 1100,00 round trip.

tnks a lot,
Juliano.

Kathie Sep 11th, 2013 03:20 PM

That really isn't a bad price. But I always buy directly from the airline. If there is a problem you'll get more satisfaction dealing with the airline than with expedia.

Craig Sep 11th, 2013 04:16 PM

That's a decent price, but as Kathie says, buy direct.

JulianoMelao Sep 11th, 2013 04:45 PM

Okay, just use expedia.com to find flight, buy directly from airline site.

thank you a lot.

rhkkmk Sep 12th, 2013 09:16 AM

Thank you guys..

So, whats the problem with Air China? i just open other post to talk about 72-hour visa-free in Beijing..i can stay there for 72 hours and try to visit some places before go Bangkok.

Thank you .

warmly,
Juliano.

its just not a preferred airline for most people---limited services...

JulianoMelao Sep 13th, 2013 05:53 AM

Ok, Korean is expensive than Air China, (around u$100).

Air china with stopover in Beijing for 72 hours its around u$1126,00 round trip from NYC to BKK.

Now i´m looking for some info about 72h free visa that started January 1, 2013.

Do you know st about it?

thks RHKKMK.

JulianoMelao Sep 26th, 2013 11:00 AM

Just check Air China U$ 1146,00 NYC to Bangkok with 3 days stopover in Biejing..

Is a good price?

tnksssssss..

Good luck with Air China. For only $100 difference definitely go with Korean Air. The difference in service and product alone is well worth the money.

JulianoMelao Sep 26th, 2013 06:49 PM

What´s the problem with air china?

I just simulate same dates and same depart and arrive airport, Air china its around 350 u$ cheaper.

Tnks for Filmwill

JulianoMelao Sep 26th, 2013 07:17 PM

Exactly 1062 U$ for this multi flights.

filmwill Sep 26th, 2013 08:32 PM

If you only care about cost savings, then you should just book the ticket with Air China. If you care *at all* about comfort, service, food and general overall attitude then the difference of even $350 wouldn't matter all that much.

Air China, in my experience, is bottom of the barrel. Sort of like flying a long-haul version of Ryanair.

To me, when you're spending $1k for a ticket and you're flying over 18+ hours, every penny means something--especially if it contributes to your comfort. If it's only about getting there as cheaply as possible then asking the question of who's the best carrier is irrelevant. Just book the cheapest fare.

rhkkmk Sep 27th, 2013 05:58 AM

paragraph 2 above says it all.

you will get there fine, you will have a free stop in china, BUT don't expect any comfort, edible foods, decent, if any, onboard entertainment...

JulianoMelao Sep 27th, 2013 09:14 AM

tnks for quick tips...

just get a special deal for the flight, 1060u$.. can´t pay more than this.

Thank you for all!!
