Fish Market
Author: peggionthego Date: 03/18/2007, 06:30 pm We have only one possible morning to visit the fish market - Monday, April 2nd. We will have arrived in Japan from the USA East Coast on Saturday, so we're assuming there will still be jet lag that will have us awake early. We are meeting our tour guide (arranged from advice on this site) at our hotel - the Tokyo Westin in the Ebuiso area - that morning at 9am. Should we attempt to venture out on our own to the Fish Market before meeting our tour guide? Does anyone know how long it would take to get from the Westin to the fish market??? |
Aproximately an hour as we have and few friends visited The area and if it is your lucky day you will get there in anhour Dubaishor....com

It's 18 minutes on the Hibiya line from Ebisu station to Tsukiji station.

You should get there earlier--like at 6 a.m. to see the tuna auction. By the time you get there after meeting your guide at 9 a.m., all the actions are pretty much over and all you'll see are stalls selling fish. Even then, most of the buying activities would have been over by then. Go early.

Thank you; yes, we are planning to go BEFORE meeting the tour guide...that's why I needed help figuring out if we could go and get back to our hotel by 9am.
