First trip to Thailand
My husband and I want to plan a trip to Thailand on 2011. I have not done any reasearch and I would love to hear past experiences, tips and recommendations for my trip to Thailand.
Thanks! Karen |
Karen, this is far too broad a question fro any of us to answer. You need to start by doing some research. Buy yourself a good guidebook. Read it. See what interests you most.
Read just a few of the hundreds of trip reports here. See which experiences you'd like to have too. Look at the hotels people stayed in and see which ones you like. Go to the top of this page and use the drop-down menu to choose Thailand, all of the posts about Thailand will be listed. Think about your reasons for choosing Thailand. What is it that attracted you? Beaches? Temples? Hilltribes? Crafts? Shopping? After you've done some research and self-reflection, come back with your questions. |
Are you a city, country or beach person?
Do you like to explore, or be entertained? Low budget or big budget? |
Depending on your levels of energy, time of year (wet season etc) you will always find something in Thailand that suits.
as said above you might want to indicate your expectations When you finally sort out where to go / what to do, you might take a look at the list of things to think about I posted here. sorry about the subsequent bickering and nit-picking - but the list still stands http://www.fodors.com/community/asia...g-thailand.cfm |
I know Kathie will be particularly thrilled to see that post re-emerge.

Tip: don't drink the tap water!

karen, please ask more specific questions
|
oh sorry! I have just seen all these answers!
We are interested in culture mainly, visiting the main higlights, and having just a few days to visit the beaches, relax, etc. Anyway, I agree I have to read other posts, and I will definitely start doing that. Thanks! Karen |
