First timer to Hong Kong, Thailand & Cambodia

Hi - First time traveler to Hong Kong, Thailand and hoping Cambodia.

I have a business trip to Bangkok (mid Sept) that I'm trying to set travel for and need advice. I'm flying from ORD to Hong Kong on 9/16 and then onward to Bangkok 9/18 - 22. I'd like to sneak in a quick jaunt to Cambodia to see Anghor Wat and have found a morning outbound flight on 8/23 and a morning return flight 8/24. I've never flown into BKK before - Can I store luggage overnight at the airport? And more importantly, would I be cutting it too close if my return lands at 10:40am and my outbound to Hong Kong leaves at 12:40pm? Will I need to go through customs while transferring? Should I ditch Cambodia and visit another place instead? Please advise!

There is luggage storage at BKK. Be aware that there are two airports in Bangkok, BKK (the "new" airport) and Don Mueang (the "old airport"). So if you want to try this, make sure your flight from Cambodia lands at BKK. I do think you are cutting it too close, however. While you would be a transit passenger, it still takes time to transfer flights.

Also, you would have maybe 6 hours to explore the temples of Angkor - nowhere near enough time to do more than look at one or two and say "wow." There are dozens of accessible temples in the Siem Reap area and even more farther afield. Either add some days to your trip or save Angkor for a future trip.

If you want to go to somewhere close to Bangkok, consider Ayutthaya, one of the old capitols of Thailand. This can be done as a day trip from Bangkok, or you can stay overnight.
