For those who have not been to Jim Thompson's house yet hurry, because there is currently a project to extend the motorway directly overhead with one of the supporting pillars planned to be right in the middle of the site.

If you have already been to Jim Thompson's and liked it, you might consider seeing Wang Suan Phakkard, a collection of old Thai houses and art, which used to be the home of a member of the royal family. It is quite pleasant and is opposite the Siam City Hotel on Si Ayuthhaya Road (Skytrain Phaya Thai).

If going to Vimanmaek, The golden teakwood palace, the best time to be there is at 2pm, when there is a Thai cultural show.

I forgot to mention in my previous posting the Sound & Light Show at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 9.45pm each evening at Wat Arun. It is in English and Thai. It has been running since last November, but nobody can tell when it will finish as it has been extended several times. Better to check ahead first, if going. It is just a short 12 minute show but is quite tourist free, since nobody seems to know about it.
