Family of four looking for recs for a 3-4 week stay in Tokyo

We are a family of four (two adults, boys 9 and 6). We are planning to spend a month or more in Japan next year and are starting to think about places to stay. We've traveled as a couple to Japan and stayed all over the city but it's been a while and was wondering if anyone has tips for a long term stay, maybe $150-$200 per night (or less?). We are thinking to do three weeks in Tokyo and then two weeks traveling around. Last time we went (2011) we stayed in Hotel Niwa near Suidobashi station and were considering staying there again but were wondering what other options we may have.

We remember that some hotels give discounts for long term stays. We are also open to traditional lodging or a guesthouse. We realize its the Olympics so we have to book in advance.

Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you own a diamond mine, for a long stay for 4 people like yours, a guesthouse to me is a sensible choice. There are too many to mention - just look through a booking engine like booking.com or something else.

Id be looking for an Airbnb, particularly as many places discount the rate for an extended stay.
