Thanks to you both. I like to eat on the train and will take you up on the ekiben and snack cart ideas. I am in the real nuts and bolts planning now, laying down the itinerary, trains, etc. but you know, I still have like 5 months to go and so much still to do and learn before we go. My son and I are watching the movies and reading some of the books suggested on here (he is watching Kurosawa's Seven Samarai tonight.) His Japanese and kanji are coming along in school.And thanks to you all, all the "listening" I've done on here for months is really paying off in the planning. If I can get more comfortable w/the digital camera instructions, I'll post my own pictures next April like mrwunrfl did. I look at his pictures alot, they are really wonderful.
