Experience with Luxurylink.com
Has anyone had experience using vacation deals from Luxurylink.com? The only "catch" that scares me is the "subject to availability"...
I would love to get the thoughts of others who have used this sight to book their destination. Thanks in advance! |
I have used them successfully. You can actually contact the hotel directly to check on availability before you bid
|
I have looked at their offers in the past. Often, I found that the beginning bid price was above the price I could find for the same hotel/resort online. I have not opted to use them for this reason.

I got some great deals for my trip to Mexico 2 years ago and for a trip to Napa last year.
No problems at all. Also, as already mentioned, call the property and verify availability for your desired dates before you bid. |
Yes and No.
Yes. We've gone to Canada twice, desert SW, Costa Rica and Mexico for 40% of lowestadvertisedonlineinperson prices. The secret = go where the bargains are, not necessarily where you want to go. Pay more attention to the auctions rather than the deals. The good delas are often additions/perks rather than actual reductions in rates. The latter are sometimes nominal. No. We have not had the same luck when picking out destinations and waiting for bargains. So: read the fine print, look for excluded and black-out dates, make sure taxes are included. |
I've used them before with no problems.
However, lately I find their deals not as good as they used to be. It pays to research the "retail" cost of the package, including taxes and the "extras" they throw in. I haven't seen any really great deals for Thailand lately for example. Also, keep in mind many of the offers are auctions, so the price can, and does, go up before bidding closes. As for the availabilty issue; if your travel days are very limited and during a holiday, you'd better check with the hotel first to see if they will accept the package. |
