Emergency cancellation of India trip - hotel rooms available
Due to a medical emergency, we must cancel our long planned and awaited India trip, which was scheduled to commence on Dec 28. We have some great hotel space booked and prepaid and sadly, travel insurance is not going to help us get the money back (long story - pre exisitng condition.) If anyone is headed that direction and looking for accommodation, we have two rooms with breakfast booked at each of the following:
Dec 28, 29, 30 - Imperial in Delhi
Dec 31 - Mughal Sheraton in Agra (includes gala NYE dinner package for 4)
Jan 1, 2 - Sher Bagh in Ranthambore (includes all meals and 3 game drives in jeeps)
Jan 3, 4, 5 - Raj Palace in Jaipur
Dec 6 - Samode Palace
Dec 7 - Samode Bagh
This was all booked with Durjay at Compass Tours in Delhi and he is willing to help us switch the reservations to someone else's name, if anyone out there is interested. We will let these go at below what we paid, to try to recover some of our cost.
If you are interested you may contact me privately at [email protected] to discuss the details. If you provide a phone number, I will call you to answer any questions you might have. (be sure to include a country code.)

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts and wishes. I've actually heard from another Fodorite here in Singapore who may potentially be able to use some of the trip. One big stumbling block will be whether he can get a visa in time. We will speak more later today.
The medical emergency is not mine, but that of a family member....we are waiting for more test results at the moment.
Thank you again everyone for your support.

Lindsey, you have a soul-mate on www.indiamike.com: a New Yorker who is also sitting at home watching his/her flight take off for the holiday of a lifetime, and instead he/she has medical bills to pay.
You should get onto indiamike and commiserate with each other! You are actually a little less-unfortunate, as the New Yorker was booked with Intrepid Tours, which will not allow transfers of accommodation to another person.
