Electrical Outlets in Bali
Can anyone tell me what type of electrical outlets we will find in Bali? I'm heading there in two weeks for my honeymoon and one of my fiance's top concerns is, of course, her hair dryer! (Charging the camera would also be a big priority).
Thanks! |
Your resort will, no doubt, supply a hair dryer. Charging things like cameras, laptops, etc, only require an adaptor (your recharger has a convertor) and hotels normally have those for you to borrow.
If you google, you can find photos of electrical outlets in every country in the world. You can buy a universal adaptor set which gives you adaptors for places world-wide. I bought one maybe 25 years ago, but I never carry it any more as hotels I stay in supply the needed adaptors. |
Here's the link you need.

As Kathie said the resorts will provide adapters and hair dryers. The outlet size and shapes vary; mostly they are circular with cylindrical prongs, but there's no real standardization.
Curious, where did you finally decide to stay? |
The link in the other post appears to show Australian plugs rather than Indonesian. Plugs in Indonesia take two round prongs. Here's a page with a picture:

Thanks all. It sounds like it won't be much of a problem if the resorts provide adaptors.
Marmot- sorry for the slow response. We are spending 4 nights at the Four Season in Jimbaran Bay, 3 nights at the Royal Pita Maha in Ubud and 4 nights at the Legian in Seminyak. We're getting very excited- the wedding is next weekend and then we're off! Thanks for all your help. |
Make sure your western appliance can run on 220/240, then all you need is an adapter. Otherwise, you need a converter for the power and an adapter. The better resorts have converters if you ask for them to charge an appliance -- at least they did in 2006. Have a wonderful time !!

Kyle and Jenn, Have a great trip and come back and tell us about it! While you're in Seminyak stop by Biku for cake and tea/coffee. It's about a 10 minute walk from the Legian, turn left.
