Driver recommendation for Angkor Wat
 

I recently visited Angkor Wat and hooked up with an excellent driver. His name is Mr. You Chhuongthov and can be reached at (855) 12 895 724 or e-mail at [email protected]. Charged $20 per day ($40 for the trip to Banteay Srei). He asks for a 1-week notice. Very friendly and knowledgeable about Angkor/Siem Reap area. We also made an interesting side trip to the fishing village on the edge of Tonle Sap lake.

Sharik - <BR><BR>Yes, his English is pretty good. I stayed at the Angkor Village Resort which I can highly recommend. Decent rooms and the grounds are very nice. I paid $70USD/night. Also, US dollars are the currency of choice in Cambodia. I didn't see any ATM's but there a few places in Siem Reap where you can change money or get money from your credit card.

We just returned from a visit to Angkor. We had an excellent young man as our guide for the four days we toured the temples and local Siem Reap area. His name is Sovann and his email address is [email protected]. We really grew quite fond of Sovann over the long days of touring with him. He is personable, he speaks very good english and is extremely knowledgable about Angkor history (there wasn't a depiction he could not identify nor a dynasty could could not name and date!) I recommend him highly.
