Don Muang airport to Mo Chit BTS

Anyone knows if I were to take a cab fm Bangkok's Don Muang airport to skytrain station "Mo Chit", will there be a toll fee involved? How much would the ride cost?

if you take a cab into town, which mo chit would be the usual toll is 60 B....maybe a taxi would avoid the tolls by going on surface roads, but that could take quite a while...

i forget which is mo chit, but i think it is at one end of the skytrain...so you might go cross country...??

a ride into the city might be 300-500 B or if no traffic it might be less than 300...my cheapest to the marriott resort and spa was about 285 B...maybe 375 with tip and tolls

My taxi ride from the area of the Pratunam Market to the airport was 80 baht. No tolls involved.

Ash123,

For a cab from Don Muang to Mor Chit BTS station you will only get on the Don Muang Tollway which cost 20 baht only(unless your cabbie want to take you on the scenic route). You can do the journey without getting on the Tollway but that will take approximately 5 minutes longer.

20 baht is only the toll charge I'm not sure how much the cab ride will cost.

I'll make a rough estamate and say the taxi without toll is about 150 with tolll 170. it may cost a bit more depending on trafic.

are you trying too save money or time.
----------
rhk I believe the tolls are priced by distance. I always pay 40 baht.

Tollway costs 20 Baht! The ride is around 100 Baht. If the Taxi driver does not know the Mo Chit station, tell him to drive to Central Plaza Shopping Center. Make sure that you take a taxi from the departure hall!

Unbelievable! an entire thread dedicated to informing Ash123 that there'll be a 50-cents toll fee on the taxi ride from BKK airport. Pay the toll! The alternative is like a snail's funeral.

Thank U for all your advice! Will be arriving BKK at 6:50pm. tryin to strike a balance betw cost & time saved, given the evening rush hour. Also want to know how much the toll cost so that i will not pay blindly. Looks like taking a cab to Mo Chit station is the way to go for me, as opposed to taking a direct cab to the city & face the evening jam.

i would take a taxi directly to where my final destination is....the traffic is not great but transferring to the skytrain is a pain and if you have luggage it is a real pain...many stations do not have escalators or elevators where you need them...take the taxi direct to your destination...you will only be talking a few extra dollars at most...

ash where are you going.

-----------
if you choose too go to mo chit you have too say "MO CHIT BTS" siince MO CHIT bus station is close by... and you may also have too specify which CENTRAL there ore many in town the one near chit lom is CENTRAL LAD PHRAO

yoy also should consider using the subway, it depends where your going.

durring hours 6:30-7 PM has by far the most trafic not even RHK's BENZ willl be able to carve a path at theat time of day.

yet taking a taxi all the way to destination may not be a bad idea but once again we should get an Idea where your going.

I will heading for BKK City Inn (near Big C). Was referring to Mo Chit BTS. So would u advise the cab or the cab-skytrain route?

i can't imagine lugging suitcases on and off the skytrain and up all those stairs, so for me the taxi would be the only option

Have a nice day! Having the outhouse wallpapered today!

Sorry Bob, I should have said "wash my mouth out with soap" not yours. I know you'd never mention that word, "backpack" in mixed, civilised company. And that outhouse is lookin' good! Absolutely first rate guest accommodation.
