Yeah...at long last, the Dogster is back!

LAleslie Oct 20th, 2010 05:13 PM

Dogster, is this our Love Boat? Sounds swell. When will dates and rates be posted? Should you put htis on the Love Boat thread. Maybe we can round up some game Doddites for this.

I assume it's roughly the same itinerary as the Jaya'man. Does that mean you wouldn't want to do that again?

Thinking of this for Nov or Dec. 2011. Anybody else game?

Marija Oct 20th, 2010 05:15 PM

Sounds good, LA.

Nywoman Oct 20th, 2010 05:37 PM

Dogster is back and all is well with the world. At least mine.

dogster Oct 20th, 2010 05:57 PM

That's all I know, LA.

Here's what Thomas wrote:

<i>You can see that we take our valued passengers seriously.. the new project The Jahan will have tour escorts; not quite a replacement for a tour guide but probably less annoying than some of the talkative guides.. Of course, we’ll charge for this while the group excursions are included as always. I’m embarrassed to say but I wouldn’t have done this without you... am not quite sure if it will please all the passengers but it’s a start.. we’ll choose and conduct some training with the existing staff from the Jayavarman – they all rave about this idea since I have introduced it and hope to get the job on the new ship... </i>'

See why I like this guy? He's come up with a great product, gets no negative feedback, sells out and is STILL trying to improve. 10/10 Thomas. I think we elderly F'ddoderers should adopt him.

Dogster, it's wonderful to see you posting again! I just attended my first GTG in Boston and, of course, your name came up in conversations, how could it not?

We were missing you a lot. Glad you're back!!!

How nice to see you posting again, Dogster. The energy of the site was definitely different without your wit, bite and knowledge.

LAleslie Oct 20th, 2010 08:46 PM

Yeah, he gets it. A gem.

chickenlittle Oct 21st, 2010 06:58 AM

I wasn't planning on going on the trip -- but I was looking forward to reading about all the misadventures!! So glad you are back Dogster!! Hooray!

Elainee Oct 21st, 2010 04:27 PM

Dogster, just went to your website. WOW!!!! Fantastic! Amazing "story covers". I am very, very impressed. I know you were a great storyteller, but now you are a great graphic designer.

MaryW Oct 21st, 2010 07:13 PM

Hi Dogster, Pook just told me you were back so I came to say hello. Good news is he is back now too. I'm looking forward to more stories. Fodors is a much livelier place with the 2 of you around so welcome back.

dogster Oct 21st, 2010 10:41 PM

Wow, lots of love. Thank you. Big hug to Elainee who noticed by fantastications on the site... I'm having a lot of fun. It's a real learning curve, as a few of you have observed. It's still kinda clunky, like a child with brightly colored building blocks, but, ahh, what the hell. I'm just playing it by ear, with disastrous consequences sometimes.

Actually, there's a lot more in there than you know. As you can see, I'm toying with an new 'photo-essay' style, just for fun. It frees me up to go to some different places where I couldn't find the words. Hence some of more bizarre design choices. Time consuming tho'. Once this post has run its course I'm going to try out a new interactive trip report in here; half here, half there.

I could'nt help but notice your photos in your web pages. The quality of pictures are amazing. You are an accomplished photographer too.

Gpanda Oct 22nd, 2010 03:43 AM

OK, enough sweet love, now for the tough love part. Isn't there a element of mixed metaphor when one plays one's visual website by ear? Do the multi-colored blocks make different sounds.

Now, I feel as if I've welcomed the Dogster back in full panda style.

MaryW Oct 22nd, 2010 05:35 AM

Yay - let the dance begin.

LAleslie Oct 22nd, 2010 05:49 PM

And I see Hanuman is back too. He crept in on other threads on little Monkey God feet.

Hanuman Oct 22nd, 2010 06:01 PM

The dog led the monkey to here!

travelaw Oct 22nd, 2010 11:57 PM
