Does Tong have a new email address?

I tried to email her today at the yahoo address ([email protected]) and the email was returned saying "no such yahoo account" or something like that.

Anyone have a new address? We are supposed to be booked with Tong in November and I'd like to write to her with confirmation.

Thanks.

That's because her email address is:

[email protected]

Happy travels!

Get rid of the ing and you should be fine.

Sorry, just curious; Who is Tong and what is she famous for?

TC Sep 24th, 2007 08:38 AM

Thanks all for setting me straight.

TC Sep 24th, 2007 08:42 AM

Degas, Tong is the most well regarded (at least on this board) English speaking guide in Bangkok.

degas Sep 24th, 2007 08:52 AM

Thanks TC, good to know. Does she charge by the hour or day? Can you design or customize your tour options.
I've been a few times, but would like to hit some lesser known places on a one day layover.

Degas-
Search "Tong" on the board here and you will come up with dozens of replys, comments and trip reports mentioning Tong. I've been to BKK many times and never used a guide, but based on the comments here, we've booked a day with her (for outside BKK)for the next trip!
She is also well recommended on the Trip Advisor message boards.

Kristina, thanks. I always do my own planning and execution, but think its time to de-stress a bit and see how the other side lives!

rhkkmk Sep 24th, 2007 09:39 AM

she will do anything you wish...she in fact loves it when people request to do certain things, especially unusual ones...

Degas-see if Tong is available to take you to the "secret place". Bob and I went there in November and it was unique. Take a look at either Bob's endless drivel of a trip report or my incisive narrative. Either will provide information on our fantastic day with Tong.

rhkkmk Sep 24th, 2007 05:42 PM

my report is descriptive while gpanda's is full of mistakes and over simplifications...in any case it is a day like no other!!!

bmttokyo Sep 24th, 2007 06:05 PM

Hey guys, Does the secret place have anything to do with "ripping through the mud"?

rhkkmk Sep 24th, 2007 06:35 PM

we saw no mud at all....i did see kimjapan's report about mud, but i do not understand this unless it was a very low tide...

bmttokyo Sep 24th, 2007 11:22 PM

If it also has something to do with eating in the middle of nowhere- there is lots of mud- my kids all had a mudpack bath. I have serious photos to prove it. We ALL had a ball . Help me out here !!!

Perort coming in the 2nd installments.

KimJapan Sep 24th, 2007 11:28 PM

Yes, the "Secret Place" involves driving the boat through mud to see birds and scenery. No kidding, I never knew those longtails were so versatile. Mud, real mud, deep mud, boat makes a trough in it that is still there when you turn around and go back.

bmttokyo Sep 25th, 2007 12:40 AM

Thanks Kim !!! I thought the Secret Place was so secret even I didn't know about it even when I was there myself :) !

BTW, I love the long narrative & TY note of T that she wrote in Reed's guest book . Tong was so fascinated that we could read it- actually DH did. Very impressive !

Yososhiku !!!

bmttokyo Sep 25th, 2007 01:40 AM

Typo- sorry Yoroshiku !!!

KimJapan Sep 25th, 2007 01:58 AM

Yoroshuku right back at you! Teaghan thought she was so funny, writing in Japanese. It's even funnier though when she speaks Japanese in front of Japanese people who don't know us...the look of shock on their faces to hear perfect Japanese coming from the mouth of a blond child who switches between Japanese and English like they are not even different...it's a great conversation starter.

Gpanda Sep 25th, 2007 02:23 AM

Mud? We'll have to go back.
