Does a Tourist Cross-boundary Travel Pass by MTR VS Octobus Card?

Hi I'm traveling to Hong Kong in about a week for a week from the US. My plan is that I'll be using MTR as often as possible. My question is should I get an Octopus Card or a Tourist Cross-boundary Travel Pass (http://mtr.com.hk/eng/tourist/tourist_products.html It 's the green one I'm looking at). If I would get an Octopus Card how much currency should i put on it? And if I get a Tourist Cross-boundary Travel Pass does it work like an Octopus card when getting off the train and out of the station?

Thanks,

Trevor

Are you going to China by train? If not, there's no reason to get that cross-boundary card. And the unlimited MTR ride is only good for 1 or 2 days only.

Also, you should rethink your plan to use the MTR as often as possible. Hong Kong has great bus services, and you should also try the ferries and trams. Don't limit yourself to under the ground.
