Do you think this is a good price for Kanchanaburi tour?
I´d like to know if this is a fair price for a tour.
Pick up at hotel around 07:30AM and drive to the floating market. Tour the market by both foot and local wooden boat. Continue on to Khanchanaburi area and visit the famous Bridge over the river Kwae as well as the War Museum and Cemetary. Lunch at a local restaurant. then onto the Tigers temple and back to Bangkok around 6PM.
The package is inclusive of a Van , driver and Petrol, All admission fees, boat rides etc through out the day, a buffet lunch, soft drinks. $300 for the day, we are 6 so it´s $50 per person.
I´ve heard some of you getting better rates, but I don´t know from how long ago.
Is there anything else worth visiting while on the area?
Thank you for your input.

Sounds like a good price to me. We've done pretty much that exact day trip in the past. VERY memorable day. A fair few people on this forum don't rate the floating market. We loved it! Try to focus on what the local people are doing and enjoy the spectacle. It's not a day for shopping but then I guess you know that.

one thing that may make that fare higher is the # of people, the use of a van and probably a driver and a guide...i think it is standard for 6 people...
i am not sure your times are correct however?? i might leave earlier...
i did a similar trip and it was 13 hours...

I did that trip back around 1998 and paid $40. So $50 is a fare price all of these years later. It was a 12-13 hour trip. I remember it very well because I did it the day before I was to fly home and it was at the end of having traveled solo for three weeks through S.E. Asia, so I was kind of looking and feeling like I'd been run over by a bus, tuk-tuk, and train. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Thanks. I´m going to go ahead and book the tour.
About the hours I was surprised too, since I´ve read some of you were picked up at the hotel around 6:30 and back by 7:00 or later for the same trip. But that´s what they told me, so I guess I´ll just wait and see, I´ll tell you how it went when I get back.
You have no idea how excited I am about this trip, I´m counting the days, just 20 more to go, I´m barely focusing on my job now.
