Can't see the point at chucking money away, when you can get perfectly respectable accommodation and hosting on a shoestring.

Lots of excellent places to eat, drink, be entertained, and enjoy in Sanur too.

Asking someone, who's been asking a lot of questions, a simple related question is hardly harassment!

Legian is kind of an undefined area that merges with Kuta on the south and Seminyak on the north. I haven't found any restaurants walking distance of the Stones Hotel that I'm personally familiar with, but, for sure, you'll find a lot of choices, both on the little streets near the beach and the main road, Jalan Legian.

If you venture farther north to Jalan Legina becomes Jalan Seminyak which becomes Jalan Raya Bangsangkasa which veers off into Jalan Kayu Aya and Jalan Petitenget. It seems the food gets better as you go north. You'll find some are stylish and expensive, most are not.

In Kuta, Poppies, which has been around for decades, is very popular, but I haven't been there recently.

Beach Walk is a fancy shopping mall facing Kuta beach. We don't like shopping malls in general but this one is open and airy and has some good restaurants with seaviews, like the Luncheonette and Cafe Sardinia.

If you go north along the beach toward Seminyak you'll find a string of casual beach shacks between Double 6 (now called Jalan Arjuna) and the Anantara Hotel on Jalan Camplung Tanduk, They're all pretty similar, but the Indonesian food can be good and cheap. Also good for sunset drinks.

Tekor Bali which is just where Jalan Arjuna meets Double 6 beach is very good for lunch. I haven't been there for dinner.

It's perfect for us. Over 20 positive reviews, that's good enough for us. Clean, comfortable, quiet and secure is all we need.

Next stop Ubud for a week, albeit a bit more up-market...
