Departure Tax BKK

I read on one of the websites that the departure tax has been increased but is now included in the price of the outbound ticket. We are currently booked on Thai Air as the first leg of our outbound flight and I am wondering if we will need to pay the tax in addition to the ticket.

Does anyone have any information on this?

Thanks.

Sandra

depends on when you tickets were issued...i think they changed the procedure around april of this year....you should be able to see it on your ticket or just call thai and ask them....

The change was effective on the 1st of February. Most tickets issued since December 2006 for flights from February 2007 onwards have the new 700 Baht tax included in the ticket price.

I flew in and out of BKK from ORD in February and there was no departure tax to pay upon leaving.

I did not pay any departure tax when I went there in May..but I had to pay a departure tax when flying out of Samui airport.

Departure taxes are only included at airports run by the Airports Authority of Thailand (AOT). Samui is run by Bangkok Air, and they still collect the tax separately at the airport.
