Dental services in BKK
 
Hi, I know some have seen dentists while in BKK for general services. I thought I had saved the info (Kathie) but is is lost. Please share again as well as the place that had such great frames and glasses.

I have had some cleanings and minor dental work done at Bumrungrad Hospital's dental clinic. I'm pleased with their work.

Like Carol, I've had dental work done at Bumrungard and was very pleased with the quality of the work and the prices.

There are lots of places to get glasses in Bangkok. The one Cheryl uses is Paris Mikki in Siam Paragon. There are probably half a dozen opticians in SIam Paragon.

my wife had an exam at bum. hosp. last fall and was very pleased.... the exam was only 1000 B including x-rays

Thanks Kathie and RHKKMK. I have been going to BKK for years and have followed your advice and tips on this site. Lily made some beautiful ruby rings for me, thanks to you. I have always missed your get together in November, usually by a few days. I am going this year in late October, early Nov. so will miss you again. Missed Kathie by a few days in Chiang Mai for the king's beautiful botanical birthday celebration. Thanks to both of you and Carol for all of the great trip reports and "tips".

There are some extremely good "local" dentists, but their staff sometimes lack the English skills to make foreign patients comfortable.

The work done at a small office I use is the only work my buddy has ever complimented. I once had a filling, affecting 3 surfaces, done without any anesthetic, or pain, and then was able to immediately enjoy lunch, without drooling!

As far as clinics go, I would probably look towards Bumrungrad over the popular store front clinics. I don't know about if it's the same in Bangkok, but in the States, storefront clinics often change doctors as often as most people change their socks. The clinics are often stepping stones to a "real" practice.
