DEL departure tax
 

Does anyone know if we will need to pay the departure tax twice for the following itinerary?

We arrive in DEL on 1/29 and overnight there. On 1/30 we fly to Sri Lanka for a 10 day tour and return to DEL on 2/10 to tour India. We leave DEL on 3/2 for the US.

Yup, we are aware of the new 2 month visa rule but our tour company's ground agent is supposedly taking care of making sure we will be able to reenter India...fingers are crossed!

Be prepared to pay it twice. I can't think of any reason why they would exempt you. All they look at is that you are departing the country. How and why, they're not going to get into. You leave, you pay.

I can't remember paying a departure tax the last time I was in there (June 09). Isn't the tax built into the airline tickets?

I didn't pay a departure tax (Oct. 2008). I assume any taxes are included in the plane fare.

Thanks for the input. Since I posted, one AA agent said the tax was included in my FF ticket DEL/ORD; another one said it wasn't. Plus the local travel agent who got the DEL/CMB tickets said the flight is considered domestic, not international and therefore not subject to the departure tax. I was just curious if I might need to pay departure taxes twice. Think I'll plan on paying it twice, just in case...

I have never paid a separate departure tax. It is built into the cost of the airline ticket that you purchase.
