DEET lotion. Where to apply?
 

2.5 weeks to our trip..very excited.
Getting the last few items, last week picked up 3 bottles of Sawyer controlled release family formula DEET.

Question about the application.
I know i need to put it on exposed skin. I assume i don't need to put it on areas that will be covered by shirts and pants?
So if i'm wearing long sleeves and pants, only my hands, neck and face need to be applied?

Yes, basically the rule is exposed skin.

You could also spray your clothing with Permethrin.

I condidered the permethrin but it would cost me a fortune, probably $60-$100 just to treated 5-6 outfits between my wife and I.

Really? At REI you can buy a 12-oz bottle for under $10. They say that's enough for two full outfits. So $30 for six outfits total between you and your wife.

Tim, i thought it took more per outfit.

I might look into that.
