Hi, planning a trip to Bangkok in November and am interested in seeing something outside of the city.
Any suggestions for sights or Festivals etc. I have 3 days there. Thanks!

With three days in Bangkok, you barely have time for the city itself. A close day trip would be to the floating market. You can read on this forum about tong, the tour guide. A day to the floating market, rail road market, etc makes a wonderful day trip. A day out to Ayyuthia and the summer palace is also worthwhile, but again...if you haven't seen Bangkok, three days will go by rapidly.

In which case, you may well appreciate just staying in the city and sampling some of the delights the city has to offer.

As an Aussie with an interest in history we visited the POW site at the Bridge on the River Kwai and the war cemetery. Possibly not everyone's thing. It was very interesting and moving.

Suscha, we did a similar trip in February and went to Bangkok after Vietnam and Cambodia. Worked with Tong and our tour guide was Jennie who was great. We were really tired from the First part of the trip that we used day one in Bangkok to relax, try to find a tailor, which did not workout to well and then toured with Tong's group for two days, and the 4th day just did some shopping and sat by the pool. We spent day one seeing the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, etc. It was a very long day but great also the long boat tour of the klongs. On the second day we went to the train market, floating market and to see the floating monkey's. If you do this part I would skip the lunch portion as it made the day very long . The floating monkey's were amazing. This is a wonderful trip.

With such limited time in Bangkok, I would also skip the lunch portion of the trip with tong as it takes a long time.
