day trips from bangkok?
 

can someone give us some ideas for day trips? thank you.

If I remember correctly, you've only got three days in Bangkok. Spend them all in Bangkok. There is more than enough to keep you occupied.

I see from your other post that you are considering longer in Bangkok. The one day trip I think is worthwhile is the boat trip ( to or from - you do one way via road, one way via river) to the old capital, Ayutthya.

Even if you spent all of your four "extra" days in Bangkok, that's still the only day trip I personally recommend.

I agree with Kathie...suggest if you do the day trip you go by bus in the morning and come back on the river in the afternoon when it will be warmer.Enjoy!

agree with the priority of staying bkk except for ayutt. altho years ago they were developing a thai-village sort of thing kind of like they have in europe or korea, with traditional buildings moved in or recreated - does this now amount to anything (i saw it in early, promising stages)?
