Day trip from Singapore to Pulau Bintan?

Hello,
I am wondering if it is recommended/advisable to do a day trip from Singapore to Bintan for a day at the beach.

Opinions/experiences appreciated.

Thanks

Think it would be cheaper and less hassle to go to the beaches at Sentosa. Would be crowded weekends at both places. You would save the ferry tickets and need not go through immigration/customs.

There's a fairly new mall Vivocity which is opened just at the gateway to Sentosa.

Thanks for your thoughts. Do you know if the waters around Sentosa clear? What I was seeking was a place to go snorkeling, etc.

Thanks again...

Neither are places to snorkel. Beach at Sentose is ok and of course saves the boat trip to Bintain, we did that day trip a few years ago, wouldn't bother again through.

We also wanted to take a day trip to a beach when we were in Singapore at the beginning of January. Since it was the rainy season and the weather was iffy, everyone told us not to take the day trip to Bintan. So we went to Sentosa. It wasn't particularly nice, just mediocre. If the weather is nice, I'd go for the day trip.
