Danang to Hanoi travel
Hi, We're planning a trip to the area in Dec, and will be going from Hanoi to Danang by train. However, when looking at Vietnam Airlines flight schedules for a return flight, there seems there no flights from Danang back to Hanoi! Can anyone comment on this? Also I suppose we have to take the train back to Hanoi. Are the trains safe (planning to take the SE4 Overnight Express)? Thanks very much.

Hi,
Why not? There are 3 flights everyday Hanoi - Danang and 3 flights Danang - Hanoi everyday, with Vietnam airline. Or here we also have Pacific Airline, provide 1 flight/ day to Danang and back. Vietnam train is very safe, and clean. Have a nice travelling. Thu |
Vietnam Airlines has 3 flights a day, departing Danang at 8:50, 14:20 and 19:05. The flight time is just over an hour. Padific Airline's single flight per day at 9:20 is cheaper at $50.00 OW/800,000 Dong OW where Vietnam Airlines best price I find is $65.00 US...and on up from there.

Thanks for the quick info, all. Unfortunately I can't find any info on the Vietnam Airlines (www.vietnamairlines.com) website, the Flight Schedule page is dead. Also I've checked other agents (eg. www.vietnamstay.com) and they don't list that particular sector. Might give Pacific Airlines a go, their website is up to date and more professional. BTW, any comments on train journeys by anyone? Thanks again.

If you wanted to buy through vietnamstay.com you could just send them an e-mail with what you want. I find http://www.flyaow.com/classcwt.htm useful for listing all except the budget carriers, and it shows fare class availability as well which I like. Code for Danang is DAD and Hanoi is HAN.

Hi,
I advice you take train. It takes time but you can see a real Vietnam on the way. Train will stop in many stations, which you can see the difference between provinces and regions. And the way from Hue to Danang with Hai Van pass, you only see how beautiful it is from Train window. Cheers. |
