Current Thoughts on Hong Kong?

I see the travel advisory on Hong Kong is Level 2. Any thoughts on whether it's safe to travel there? I was planning on going for about 10-12 days this August.

If it's Hong Kong or nothing, sure go. The humidity, which is very serious, is far more a concern than anything else. It is brutal.

It is brutal in July and August, you will be soaked in sweat from head to toe in no time at all, also as mentioned there is the potential of typhoons which will shut the city down, my favoured months would be Oct / Nov.
I would also say that 10 to 12 days would be a bit much for me as a visitor and I lived in HK for many years, also its one of the safest cities, certainly on HK Island, the civil unrest has been quashed by the use of draconian and new laws which prevent any civil disobedience, so that would be the least of my worries.
I think they are struggling for visitors as I am seeing pretty good hotel rates.

I love HK but to be honest, I personally wouldn't ever consider visiting in August :(
