Cruise ship into Bangkok

I am arriving at Laem Chabang on a cruise ship, and am planning to stay at the Peninsula Hotel. Does anyone know if transportation/taxis are readily available at the port. And approximate cost for transportation into town?

Michele, you had better check with your agent, usually they have buses into Bangkok at Laem Chabang is just the deep-water port, about 1hr 30mins from Bangkok. If the hotel has been booked together as a 'package' deal transfer would normally be included, however, if you are doing it independently then you would probably have to arrange your own transfer. The Peninsula could do it but it would be a fortune. There is a company in Pattaya ( quite near Laem Chabang ) called ' Image Car Rent', I know they have a web site although I do not know what it is ( try search 'Image Car Rent Pattaya'). I would guess B 1,600 - 2,000 for air-con with driver. Have used them, very good indeed, uniformed safe drivers. I am sure this will be a better price than booking thru hotel and a lot better than chancing a small taxi who would probably charge more.

Here you Michele:-
http://www.image-car.com/about.html
They quote Pattaya-Bangkok at 1,750 taxi car, 2,200 Limo, as Laem Chabang is roughly en-route I 'guess 2,000/2,500 would be fair,as you can see from website highly professional.
Enjoy the cruise!
Sarah
