it is a great location at the southern end of silom road....it could be compared to any hi-rise city holiday inn in the usa....not upscale, like many bkk hotels, but certainly very adequate....lots of tours use it...you are 5 minutes to patpong area, near silom village restaurants and shopping and many of the nice stores along silom road....
i have walked through the lobby and it is quite large....
you are about a 10 minute walk to the river and the skytrain is not too far..taxis are very cheap and are very plentiful in that area....

We stayed here in February 2003 and felt it was just fine. There are 2 hi-rise towers to the hotel - we stayed in the "Executive Tower" and had a HUGE marble bath. The breakfast buffet is wonderful!
It was an easy 2 block walk to the skytrain in one direction, and an easy walk to the river in the other. Across the street is a department store called "Central Store" - walk straight thru the store and on the other side is a modern Tops supermarket. A great place to buy fruits and drinks and snacks.
