Crowded Itinerary for Bhutan, Cambodia and Ankhor Waht

After reading the posts on this forum, I am re-thinking the itinerary for a trip in late September to mid-October. I'm going to spend a week in Bhutan beginning on September 29th. From there we fly back to Bangkok. The itinerary after that is as follows: one overnight in Bangkok, then on to the Cambodian capital for two nights, then Siem Riep for two nights and then back to Bangkok for three mights, then fly out to home. After reading all your posts, I'm thinking I'm packing too much in the last week. I request please any thoughts or ideas, oh experts,--this is my first time in Asia. Thanks in advance.

You could easily spend the entire week in Bangkok. At a minimum, you should cut out Phnom Phen and add a day to Siem Reap.

This is your first time in Asia? Well, traveling in Asia is different than traveling in Europe. You really need to slow down to experience the place.

You have a week in Bhutan. Many would recommend that you take advantage of your time in Bhutan to do a full two-week trip. But if you have definitely decided not to do that, then consider these options: By my count, you have 8 nights. If you aren''t willing to invest at least three full days in Angkor, I'd suggest you not go. Save it for another trip. In order to have three full days at Angkor, you'd have to cut out Phnom Phen. So you could have four nights in Bangkok and four in Siem Reap. You could also spend your whole time in Bangkok, perhaps with a day trip or two outside the city.

The itinerary of Bhutan, Bangkok and Angkor is plenty crowded, don't try to do more. Bhutan and Bangkok only would be an experience of dramatic contrasts.

I usually HATE when people go to see Angkor and don't see Phnom Penh. There is more to the countyr than the temples. However...

Everyone is right, you have too much. And it is hard to say cut Bangkok or Bhutan So SIGH...
